RESOLUTION OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA Presented By: 1.��g/� 3057094 �� Referred To: 1 2 3 a 5 6 � s s 10 t1 12 13 ia �s 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 Council File # Green Sheet # Committee: Date WHEREAS, First Alert has offered to donate 500 carbon monoxide detectors to the Department of Fire and Safety Services, and WHEREAS, the Department of Fire and Safety Services would like to accept this donation from the First Alert company, and WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation is to distribute the carbon monoxide detectors to those who need them, and WHEREAS, carbon monoxide is a odorless, colorless, deadly gas that has caused deaths in the City ot Saint Paul and throughout the State of Minnesota, and WHEREAS, carbon monoxide is a by product of the incomplete combustion of natural gas and other fuels commonly found in the home, and WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota enacted Minnesota Statute 299F.51 requiring the installation of carbon monoxide detectors in all existing single family dwelling units throughout the state by August 1, 2008, and NOW THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council, on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul, accept the donation of 500 carbon monoxide detectors from the First Alert Company and extend their sincere appreciation to this organization.
