Plainfiff sued the Ciry of St. Paul and a Fublic Works employee al3eging the employee's negligence caused ihe automobile collision
which resulted in the wrongful death of Jack Mariinson. Plaintiff is alleging certain facts which, if believed, would result in a jury
verdict and damage award against the Ciry. Tf approved, the proposed settlement would allow the City to dispose of ihis case wiffiout
an admission of liability or a negative detemination by the Courf.
AdvanWges If Approved:
The City would avoid the costs and risks of trial as well as the exposwe to an awazd of damages. Settlement of this case is not an
admission of liabiliry.
Disadvantages If Approvetl:
None.
DisadvaMages if Not Approved:
The jury could determine that the City employee was negligent and order the Ciry to pay compensatory damages and ttial costs.
