PAUL FOENCIL NO. -- OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL., RESOLUTION- GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSION AREAS, The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section. 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from July 1 to 15, 1960, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings for more than eight hours - per day or forty hours per creek.. in doing the following work: Supervision, operation, maintenance, care and protection of public parks and play* grounds and of their facilities* And AREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the follow-- ing facts and circumstances tT,4 4 Seasonal requirements c public property and piit t mental activities, suc 'iI.,�G�,v$t� is and municipal sports and playground pro- grams required increased time and effort of an unforeseen but temporary nature; heavy weekend patronage at municipal golf courses, Zoo, Conservatory, Phalen Beach, Highland Pool and public parks; breakdown of equipment required immediate repair; and wind damage to boulevard trees and early morning activity of housemovers required services of tree trimmers outside regular hours.
