COMMISSIONE DATE
WERM, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in
accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence
of an emergency during the period from January 16th to January
31, 1960, inclusive, which rendered necessary the employment of
certain employees of the Water Department for more than eight
hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following
works
(1) Supvervising repairs to water mains.and hydrants.
(2) Repairing equipment at Filtration Plant.
(3) Repairs to Storeyard heating system.
(4) Driving country crew to and from work.
AND W1 REAS.9 this emergency arose by reason of the following facts
and circumstances::
(1) In order to speed repairs.
(2) Necessary to do work during low consumption hours.
(3) In order to have heating system ready for use.
(4) On account of scattered work locations.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED., that the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Councilts Salary Ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446.
