PAUL COUNCIL CITY NO OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK C I N L OLUTION — GENERAL FORM C MMI STONE DATE Mach 16, 1( WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period frDm March 1-to March 15, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing snow from City Streets & sanding icy streets Removing debris from city streets Tending fire at Asphalt Plant on Sundays & holidays Council File No. 196300 —By Adrian P. Winkel — Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Public Works for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council March 16, 1960. Approved March 16, 1960. (March 19, 1960) Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs Mimeographing grade profiles & revising house numbers Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city streets free from snow, ice, & debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, taking complaints at City Yards, completing plans & specifications for grading & paving j -obs, need for grade profiles and house numbers, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition, and inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the pro- visions of the Councilts salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
