To the Honorable Mayor and Council
of the City of Saint Paul
Gentlemen and Madam:
The State of Minnesota has acquired for
highway purposes a portion of the Acker Street playground.
As a result a new playground will have to be developed to
serve the area.
In this connection we have been meeting
with a group who are assisting in the development of play-
ground facilities for the neighborhood and have tentatively
agreed to sell the remaining lots in the Acker Street site
and retain the proceeds of the sale for the purchase of pro-
perty for the development of a new playground in the Rice
School area.
- I. therefore, recommend that Lots 19, 20
and 21, Block 7, Edmund Ricets Second Addition, be sold under
the procedures established by Ordinance No. 6576, approved
November 5, 1925.
Respectfully submitted,
BERNARD T. HOLLAND
Commissioner
