WHEREAS, THE COMMISSIONER OF LIBRARIES AUDITORIUM MUSEUMS & STADIA HAS
REPORTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 51 OF THE CITY CHARTER, THE
EXISTENCE OF AN EMERGENCY DURING THE PERIOD FROM EEBRUARY 1
TO 29, INCLUSIVE, WHICH RENDERED NECESSARY THE EMPLOYMENT OF
CERTAIN EMPLOYEES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARIES AUDITORIUM,
MUSEUMS ,& STADIA, BUREAU OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES, FOR MORE-THAN
EIGHT HOURS PER DAY OR FORTY HOURS PER WEEK IN DOING THE FOLLOWING
WORK:
(1) COVERING BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULE, (2) BEING PRESENT DURING
EVENING MEETINGS OF THE PUBLIC, (3) DISPLAYING A,ND TAKING DOWN FLAG
ON HOLIDAYS, AND (4) SATURDAY WORK IN TECHNICAL SERVICES
AND WHEREAS, THIS EMERGENCY AROSE BY REASON OF THE FOLLOWING FACTS AND
CIRCUMSTANCES:
COVERING BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULE, BEING PRESENT DURING EVENING MEETINGS
OF THE PUBLIC, DISPLAYING AND TAKING DOWN.FJ1AG ON HOLIDAYS, AND
SATURDAY WORK IN TECHNICAL SERVICES
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE PROPER CITY OFFICERS ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED
TO PAY THE EMPLOYEES WHO PERFORMED SUCH WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
PROVISION OF THE COUNCIL'S SALARY ORDINANCE N0. 6446.
