WHEREAS, by virtue of a contrat which the Board of Water
Commissioners presently has with Hamler Industries, Incorporated,
of Chicago, for supplying liquid Anhydrous Ammonia to the Board
of Water Commissioners, said concern could. eliminate periodic
shipments of such commodity from its plant, and in consequence
has proposed to the Board of Water Commissioners that it would be
prepared to construct a 10,000 gallon steel storage tank for
storing liquid Anhydriaus Ammonia for the Water Department, for the
price of 03915.00, which would include the steel tank, necessary
valves, gauges and a transfer pump, which installation for such
price would be substantially less than if formal competitive bids
were asked for the purchase of such installation, now therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED, that this Council, being duly advised in
the premises, finds that an emergency exists where failure to act
promptly would be detrimental to the welfare of the City and to
the Board of Water Commissioners of said City, and consequently
directs-the Purchasing Agent, with the written consent of the
Comptroller and the Mayor, endorsed upon this resolution, to
proceed with the negotiations and to enter into an agreement
with said Hamler Industries, Incorporated, of Chicago, for the
purchase of a 10,000 gallon steel storage tank for the Board of
Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul, said installtion
to be e price of $3915.00, which price shall include a
10,OO1j -te storage tank, the necessary valves and gauges and a
transfer pump.
