Attached hereto are maps showing hatched
in red the forfeited lands which will be required for the
opening of Shepard Road along the line of Youngman Avenue.
The forfeited parcels lie adjacent to the
top of the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River and are
needed to continue the development of the roadway paralleling
the river. The lots are zoned for "Bit residential purposes,
as is the surrounding area. Due to the rocky nature of the
terrain the area has been slow to develop, but such develop-
i
ment as has occurred is residential in character.
In order to provide the required roadway
at the least possible cost to the city, I recommend approval
_ of the attached resolution, which includes the legal descrip-
tions of the parcels involved.
,
Very truly yours,
.Asst. Land Commissioner
