PAUL FFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CO IL RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM 1'YATC COUNCIL ?c500065 FILE • WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, in accordance with f Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from December 1 to 15, 1960, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing debris and ice from city streets Tending fires at Asphalt Plant on Sundays & holidays Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing plans for grading & paving jobs Mimeographing, grade profiles, plans, etc. Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs Council File No. 200065 —By Milton Rosen— Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of'Public Works for extra employment as described in the resolution. I , (December 17, 1960) And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the foMowing facts and cir- cumstances: Necesssity of answering all emergency calls, keeping city streets free from ice and 'debris, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, taking complaints at city yards, completing grading & paving plans, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition and inspecting work done by contractors on city streets, sewers and sidewalks.
