An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 7607, entitled:
An ordinance fixing the duties and responsibilities
.and the minimum qualifications for the various classes of
positions in the Classified Service of the City, it
approved February 13, 1935, . as amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT' PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 7607, approved February 13,
1935, as amended, be and the same is hereby' further amended by striking
out the title and specifications for "Junior Health Sanitarian".
Section, 2. That said, ordinance, as amended, be and the same is
hereby further amended by striking out the specifications for "Health
Sanitarian", and by substituting in lieu thereof the following:
(This title is hereby abolished except as to present incumbents.
Section 3. That said ordinance, as amended, be and the same is
hereby further amended by inserting in their proper alphabetical order the
following specifications for:

'WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public- Safety, Robert F.
Peterson,,has heretofore preferred charges alleging misconduct
against William F. Proetz, Chief of Police of the City of
Saint Paul; and

WHEREAS, on December 12, 1960, the City Council set the
date for hearing upon said charges; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Safety has withdrawn
the charges preferred and has evidenced a desire to reinstate
said William F. Proetz to the office of Chief of Police; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the suspension of William F. Proetz from
all duties as Chief of Police of the City of Saint Paul is
herewith rescinded; be-it .
FURTHER RESOLVED, that William F. Proetz is herewith
reinstated 'as Chief of Police of the City of Saint Paul, to
continue as such until the termination of his present term
on March 10, 1961; be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the resolution approved by the
City Council December 12, 1960, Council File No. 199997, is
hereby nullified and shall be of no force and effect.
