George J. Vavoulis Mayor City of St. Paul B U I L D I N G Dear Mayor: We have been very handicapped in our effort to get the necessary space to hold classes in Radiological, Chemical and our Amateur Radio Group. We also have been very handicapped for storage space for cabinets for which we are now paying $16.00 a month to the Merchants Cartage, Inc. I have contacted Mr. Leonard Thompson, General Manager of the Water Depart- ment, City of St. Paul, on the possibility of taking over the large residence located at the filtration plant. This residence will give us space for not only storage of the cabinets but our Radiological instruments, Ghemical equipment, and Radio. It will also give us space for training classes for these three groups. : We are also going to set up a laboratory for cali- bration and repair of our Radiological instruments. This is something we have needed for a good number of years and would help us considerably. The attached letter will explain my agreement with Mr. Thompson. Hoping this is satisfactory to you, I remain Yo s very respectfully,, Paul J. 3aider Director St. Paul Civil Defense PJC: ah Encl. 'AOR CIVIL DEFENSE IS YOUR BUSINESS
