PAUL COUNCIL NO FILE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK NCIL RESOLUTION— GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONER DATE WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reporte% in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from October 16 to 31, 1960, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Works fore more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repairs Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing debris from city streets Tending fires at Asphalt Plant on Sundays & holidays Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing grading & paving plans & specifications Mimeographing grade profiles, etc. Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting work on city improvement jobs Council File` No. 199501 —By Milton Rosen — Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Public Works for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council November 1, 1960. Approved November 1, 1960. (November 5, 1960) And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping city streets free from debris, keeping fires at Asphalt continuously, taking com- plaints at city yards, completing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs, need for grade profiles & other mimeographed materials, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition & inspecting work done by contractors on city streets, sewers & sidewalks.
