COUNCILAVOLUTION- GENERAL FORM PRESENTED COMMISSI, 17 /_- WHEREAS, The establishment of Seventh Street and Eighth Street in downtown St. Paul as one -way streets and the rerout- ing of highway traffic southbound on Robert Street from Eighth Street to Seventh Street necessitates a left turn from Robert Street to Seventh Street which presents a traffic congestion problem at Seventh Street and Robert Street, and WHEREAS, Extreme and unnecessary pedestrian conflicts are occureing at the intersection of Seventh Street and Robert Street aggravated by the left turning movement required for the routing of T.H. #10 and T.H. #12, be it. hereby RESOLVED, That the Minnesota Highway Department be re- quested to investigate the possible rerouting of T.H. #10 and T.H. #12 via University Avenue to Jackson Street, Jack- son Street between University Avenue and Tenth Street,.Tenth Street between Jackson Street and Broadway, and Broadlay be- tween Tenth Street and.Seventh Street, at which point it would connect with and continue on the present route via Broadway to Kellogg Boulevard.
