WHEREAS, The Village of North St. Paul has permission by City of St. Paul
ordinance to discharge sanitary sewage from the Village of North St. Paul
into the sewer system of the City of St. Paul, and said sewage volume
discharged into St. Paul sewers is measured by an underground metering
station at Kennard Avenue and Larpenteur Avenue, and
WHEREAS, Said ordinance provides for additional sewer rental
for sewage flows from the Village of North St. Paul in excess of 1 MGD,
and
WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works metering equipment in-
dicated that the total excess volume of sanitary sewage for the period
April 1, 1960, to June 30, 1960, read 32,211,600 gallons and at the
current rate of $40.00 =.per million gallons, the Village of North St. Paul
has been billed the total amount of $1,288.50 for excess volume of
- sewage by Comptroller's Registered Bill No. 1 -8515 and dated July 15,
1960, and
WHEREAS, The City of St. Paul metering equipment upon inspec-
tion has been determined to be faulty and not operating correctly and,
therefore, after the City of St. Paul made certain corrections and
repairs to flow meter devices and after which corrections the City of
St. Paul has determined that the actual flow of sewage from the Village
of North St. Paul has been determined'to be substantially less than the
1 MGD above, which additional charges are made for sewer rental, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Department of Public Works of the City of
St. Paul return to the Village of North St. Paul the amount of $1,288.50,
which sum has been paid to the City of St. Paul for excess sewage volume
for period April 1, 1960, through June 30, 1960, and which charges have
been determined to be without foundation as sewage metering devices were
