OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK PRESENTED BY COUNCI�t_ ES UTION - GENERAL FORM COMMISSIONE DATE WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Utilities has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from October 1, 1960 to October 15, 1960 inclusive which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Public Utilities for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Supervising the activities of the City Market, Making emergency repairs to street lighting circuits, Making concrete block tests, Prevention or elimination of air pollution, and WHEREAS, this emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circum- stances: Saturday work made necessary because of increased activity at the City Market, Overtime night work required to restore street lighting service immediately for public safety, Completion of tests requiring continuous attention, Work necessary at irregular hours to complete tests for federal agency, therefore, be it Council File No. 199346 —By Mrs. Donald M. DeCourcy- Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain' employes in the Department of Public Utilities for extra employ- ment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council October 19, 1960. Approved October 19, 1960. (October 22, -1S RESOLVED, that the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance with the pro- visions of the Council's Salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
