OF SQ�NT PAUL, MINNESOTA �
1 WIIEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is hosting the Star of the North games on June 21-22, 2008; and

3 WHEREAS, the 5aint Paul City Council finds that the Staz of the North games will bring visitors to
4 the City and will enhance opportunities for enjoyment by the citizens and visitors, and has a legitimate
5 public purpose; and

7 WHEREAS, the city needs additional space to hold the games and wishes to rent space from the
8 City of Roseville; and
9
10 WHEREAS, Roseville wishes to be indemnified in the event of injuries to any participants while
11 using their space; and
12
13 WHEREAS, the expendihxre of public funds, which includes the promise of indemnification and
14 defense, for such a purpose will facilitate and enable it to take place; now, therefore, be it
15
16 RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul on behalf of the City of Saint Paul hereby
17 authorizes the Director of Parks and Recreafion or his designee to sign a rental agreement with the City of
18 Rosevilie which contains an agreement to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the City of Roseville,
19 Minnesota its officers, employees and contractors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses,
20 and expenses of whatever nature, including attorney fees, in any manner connected with, related to, or as a
21 result of any actions or inactions associated with the usage or rental of Roseville facilities for the purpose
22 of staging Star of the North games.
