WHEREAS, in the matter of Comptroller's Contract L -6092,
for the Grading of the NORTHERN ROUTE from a point !� 0
feet E. of Lexington Parkway to Griggs Street and Bridge
Construction on Lexington Parkway over the Northern Route,
designated Bridge Number 7276 M.H.D., M. E. SOUTHER CON-
STRUCTION COMPANY, Contractor, the specified date of com-
pletion was May 15, 1960, and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has prosecuted the work diligently,
but due to the 1959 steel strike which continued for a
period of 114 days, completion of the work was prevented
within the time specified, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City Officials be and they are
hereby authorized and directed to execute an =) amendment
to said contract extending the time of completion to SEPTEM-
BER 21, 1960, provided, however, that this Resolution shall
have no force or effect, unless the Sureties on the Contract-
orls Bond consent thereto and file such consent in writing
with the City Comptroller, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of St. t'aul hereby waives all
claim for liquidated damages and that - -no engineering and
inspection charges on this pro jecte will be made by the City
on account of such extended period.
