OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL RESOLUTION— GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMMISSIONI 14 WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Works has reported, i Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of*an the period from May 1 to May 15, 1960 which rendered employment of certain employees of the Department of more than eight hours per day or forty hours per wee following work: Emergency street, building, sewer & bridge repair Dispatching men for emergency repair work Dispatching motor vehicles for all emergency work Operating equipment on emergency repair work Emergency calls for sewer maintenance Removing debris from city streets Tending fire at Asphalt Plant on Sundays & holidays n accordance with emergency during necessary the Public Works for k in doing the Council File No. 197173 —By Adrian P. Winkel — Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Public Works for extra employment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council May 17, 1960. Approved May 17, 1960. (May 21, 1960) Taking care of complaints at city yards Drawing plans & specifications for grading & paving jobs - Mimeographing grade profiles & revising house numbers Servicing municipal equipment Making up sidewalk assessments Inspecting city improvement jobs And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Necessity of answering all emergency repair calls, keeping fires at Asphalt Plant continuously, keeping city streets free from debris, taking complaints at City Yards, completingplans & spec- ifications for grading & paving jobs, need for grade profiles and douse numbers, completing sidewalk assessments, keeping city equipment in good running condition, and inspecting work done by contractors on street & sidewalk work.
