OF ZONING,' CITY OF SAINT PAUL
33 1315 CITY HALL AND COURT HOUSE SAINT PAUL 2, MINNESOTA
May 26, 1960
Mr. Joseph Okonoski
City Clerk
Building
Dear Sir:
This is in the matter of the application of Texaco Inc. for a permit to
reconstruct and enlarge an existing filling station operation on
property located on the southeast corner of. Arcade .Street and Maryland
Avenue. The property is described as Lots 13, 14 and 15, Block 1,
Eastville Heights Addition. The zoning is commercial and has been since
the adoption of the ordinance in 1922.
The site is presently occupied by a filling station and an auto repair
business both of which have been at this location for many years. The
applicant proposes to remove both of these facilities and construct a new
filling station on the site. This site has a frontage of 120 feet on
Maryland Avenue and 112.05 feet on Arcade Street resulting in a total
area of approximately 14,646 square feet. North across Maryland avenue
is a filling station and a single - family residence fronting on Maryland
Avenue; south across an alley are commercial uses fronting on Arcade
Street; east and adjoining is a single - family residence fronting on
Maryland; west across Arcade Street are commercial uses fronting on that
street.
The Traffic Engineer has approved the plans which meet the standards for
this type of facility. The Highway Department has approved the plan with
reference to driveway approaches on Trunk Highway # 61. Field investga-
tion discloses no basic objection.
In consideration of the above factors, the Board of Zoning recommends the•
granting of the permit to reconstruct and enlarge an existing filling
station on the above described property in accordance with plans approved
May 5, 1960.
