CITY SPECIAL ELECTION, JUNE 28th, 1960
GENERAL NATURE
Extra Session Laws of Minnesota for 1959, Chapter 71, Article III,
Section 10, provides for such conversion of such Special School District to an
Independent School District, by majority vote of the electors voting thereon
at a Special Election, duly called and held for said purpose. Said Section 10,
Article III, Chapter 71, Extra Session Laws of Minnesota for 1959, reads as
the same is set forth in the Notice of this Special Election as said Notice has
been published and posted according to law. In the event that such conversion
be effected as provided by said_Law, such Special School District would be
dissolved and a new Independent School District would be created, and, among
other things, title to all of the property of the dissolved Special School District
would pass to the new Independent School District, all contractual obligations
including the bonded indebtedness of the dissolved Special School District
and enforceable claims against the dissolved Special School District would be
imposed on the new Independent School District as and to the extent that
such matters have been or shall be allocable to school district purposes, and
the converted Independent School District would possess taxing, bonding and
other powers as provided to be conferred thereon and as limited and restricted
under and according to the provisions of said Section 10, Chapter 71, Article
III, Extra Session Laws of Minnesota for 1959.
To vote for the proposed independent school district,
put a cross mark (X) in the square opposite the word
"YES ". To vote against the proposed independent school
district, put a cross mark (X) in the square opposite the
word "NO ".

of the City of Saint Paul, be converted to and become an
independent school district as provided in Chapter 71,
Article III, Sec. 10, Laws 1959, Extra Session, with limited
