PAUL FI FE NO. c� VV1144YY OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL RESOLUTT,ON— GENERAL FORM AT WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Parks'and Recreation and Public Buildings has reported, -in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period from May 16 to 31, 1960, which 'rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Supervision, operation, maintenance, care and protection of public parks and play- grounds and of their facilities. And WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:; Council l: ile No. 197396 — By Bernard T. Holland — Resolved, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Parks And Recreation And Public Buildings for extra e}nployment as described in the resolution. Adopted by the Council June 2, 1960. Approved June 2, 1960. (June 4, 1960) Seasonal requirements for protection of public property and pursuit of departmental' activities, such as: Civic events and muni- cipal sports and playground programs moment- arily required increased time and effort of an unforeseen nature; heavy week -end patron - age at municipal golf courses, Zoo and Con- _ servatory; breakdown of equipment and facil- ities and the delay by the weather in spring cleanup work in City parks caused Saturday time. TEEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who per- formed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
