The ability to settle claims with [he payment of up to $7,500 will allow Labor Relafions more flexibility in resolving conhact disputes. Advantages If Approved: Labor Relations will be able to settle disputes quickly, which may reduce overall costs. Currently these are paid for out of departments' salary budgets in the form of pay for tune off. If approved, the new policy would allow for departments to pay for these grievances out of the "SettlemenY' budget code, making the process more transparent. OK to sign.... John
