WHEREAS, The City Clerk has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of
the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period
from August 15th to August 23rd which rendered necessary the employ-
ment of certain employees of the City Clerk's Office for more than

eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following
work:
The office was open until 9 P.M, seven nights for registration
and change of address.
AND WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Preparing for the County & State Primary Election and City
Special Election, September 13, 1960.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such work in accordance
with the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance
No. 6446,
