WHEREAS, the City Architect having requested the City Council to
hold a public hearing to consider any complaints about the expense
incurred by the City of Saint P ul in removing a dangerous structure
at 1986 Benson Avenue, more particularly described "as Lot 2, Block 3,
Major's Addition, Ramsey County, Minnesota, the City Council held a
public hearing on July 29, 1960 to consider the expense and to confirm
the amount thereof. and
WHEREAS, it appears that the Council, pursuant to Council File
No. 192603, approved June 3, 1959, published June 6, 1959, set a
public hearing to consider removing the dangerous structure, and by
Council File No. 193009, approved July 2, 1959, published July 4, 19599
ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense of the
owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof, and by Council
File No. 193276, approved July 23, 1959, published July 25, 1959,
directed the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings
to enter upon the premises and wreck and remove the building thereon
and do any ggd all things therein necessary for the protection of life,
limb and adjoining property, and that the City of Saint Paul has
incurred the expense of $456.43 in removing said structure; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Nettie and John A. Moberg, 1986 Benson
Avenue and c/o 579 Eustis Street, Saint Paul 4 Minnesota, are the
owners of said premises, copies of proceedings herein having been sent
to State of Minnesota, Old Age Assistance, 576 St. Peter Street, Saint
Paul 2, and goy Xo "rg,579 Eustis Street, Saint Paul 4 Minnesota; be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby
confirms the amount of $456.43 to be the fair, true and reasonable
amount of such services incurred in removing the dangerous structure;
and be it
gURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be directed to file in the
office of the Register of Deeds of Ramsey County, a statement of expense
incurred by the City, for the purpose of securing a lien on the property,
pursuant to the Building Code, Sec. 1.07 of the Saint Paul Legislative
Code.

Dear Council Members:
A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on this
date for the purpose of creating a lien on the property known as
1986 Benson Avenue, St. Paul, described as Lot 2, Block 3, Major's
Addition, Ramsey County, Minnesota.
This propert} is owned by
Nettie & John A. Moberg, 1986 Benson Ave. and %579 Eustis St.
St. Paul 4
and copies of the proceedings were sent to State of Minnesota,
Old Age Assistance, 576 St. Peter Street, St. Paul 2 and Roy Mogren,
579 Eustis Street, St. Paul 4.
In this matter the following resolutions were adopted by the City
Council:
C.F. 192603, adopted by the Council June 3, 1959 (published June 6,
1959), set a public hearing at 10 A. M. June 26, 1959.

C.F. 193009, adopted by the Council July 2, 1959 (published July
4, 1959), ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and
expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof.
C.F. 193276, adopted by the Council July 23, 1959 (published July
25, 1959), directed the Commissioner of Parks And Recreation And
Public Buildings to enter the.pr6mises and wreck and remove the
one and one half story dwelling thereon, and do any and all things
therein necessary for the protection of life, limb, and adjoining
property.

C.F. 193933, adopted by the Council September 11, 1959 (publish-
ed September 19, 1959), approved the award of the contract for
wrecking to Patsy Wrecking Co. for the sum of $390.00 in acoord-
ance with specifications and Informal Bid No. 777.
C.F. 197919, adopted by the Council July 7, 1960 (published
July 9, 1960), provided that the wrecking expense of $390.00
and expense of the Department of Parks And Recreation And Public
Buildings in connection with the condemnation in the amount of
$66.43, making a total of $456.43 be paid out of Wrecking
Condemned Buildings Account of General Fund, 31 G 22, and, in
the event said sum proves collectible from the owner, same is
to be credited to 31 G 22.
The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a register-
ed bill mailed to the owner.
We are requesting that you hold a public hearing with ten days'
notice to consider any complaints about the expenses incurred
and to confirm the amount. The Council resolution confirming the
expense should end with a directive to the City Clerk to file a
statement of expense for the purpose of securing a lien on the
property.

We are attaching herewith a copy of Council File No. 198406,
approved by the City Council ,August 9, 1960 and published
in the official paper.
This has reference to the property at 1986 Benson Avenue, de-
scribed as Lot 2, Block 3, Major=s Addition, Ramsey County,
Minnesota, owned by Nettie and John A. Moberg, 1986 Benson
Avenue and %.579 Eustis Street, St. Paul 4, Copies of the
condemnation proceedings were also sent to State of Minnesota,
Old Age Assistance 576 St. Peter Street, St. Paul 2, and Roy
Moberg, 579 Eustis Street, St. Paul 4. This resolution con-
firms the expense incurred by the City in the'condemnation and
wrecking of the two story single family dwelling thereon, which
amounted to $456.43.
As you will note, the final paragraph of this resolution dir-
ects the City Clerk to file, in the office of the Register of
Deeds, a statement of expense incurred, for the purpose of
securing a lien on the property, in accordance with Section
1.07 -7 of the St. Paul Legislative Code.
