WHEREAS, Twin Cities Toyota Dealer Group has a5reed to enter into a sponsorship a�eement with Saint Paul Parks and
Recreation for a three year period, as referenced by council resolution (08-54,) GS3048150 approved by the Ciry of Saint Paul
Ciry Council on January 16`", 2008
WHEREAS, Toyota a�eed to provide cash support of $100,000 for each year of the a�eement (total three yeazs);
WHEREAS, Toyota agreed to provide ] 0 hi�h efficiency vehicles leased to the City of Saint Paul at no cost, in addition of the
cash support.
WIiEREAS, the lease period for the vehicles provided by Twin Cities Toyota Dealer Group will be from 4/25/2008 until
4/25/2011;
WHEREAS, the following ten vehicles to be provided to the City of Saint Paul are as follows;
3 Toyota Highlanders (Hybrid)
2 Toyota Camry's (Hybrid)
1 Toyota Prius (I-Iybrid)
1 Toyota Sienna
3 Toyota Tundra's
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul a� to provide sponsorship recognition of titled/presenting partner status at special events
such as; Star of The North Games, Music in The Parks, and presence at ten events throughout the City of Saint Paul, i.e. Earth
Day Celebration, Molitor Youth Baseball Townament, Spring Parks Cleanup;
WHEREAS, the agreement is a financial benefit to the taxpayers of Saint Paul of approximately $193,000 per yeaz and provides
a positive environmental impacz in that at least 60% of the vehicles provided will be hybrids and all will be low emission/high
model fuel mileage vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, in accordance with Section 10.071 of the City Charter, certifies that there are available for
appropriation $100,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2008 budget and recommends the changes listed below; now,
therefore be it,
I2ESOLVED, the City Council approves the recommended amendments to the 2008 budget.

City Council passed a resolution eazlier this yeaz that approved a 3 year sponsorship
agreement between Parks and Recreation and the Twin Cities Toyota Dealer Group.
Pazks agreed to grant them recognition of title sponsor at several high profile parks events
over the period in exchange for $100,000 per year plus 10 vehicles. The attached budget
resolution establishes a financing and spending plan for the 2008 portion of the $100,000
in sponsorship funds. The proceeds will be used to supplement equipment purchases at
3immy Lee Recreation Center and other Pazks facilities. Parks staff included a cover
letter and line item detail that provides additional information. OK to sign.

Attached to this memorandum is the City Council resolution for the budget amendment and
establishment of the Twin Cities Toyota Dealer Group sponsorship fund.
The Twin Cities Toyota Dealer Group will provide ten high-efficiency vehicles and $100,000 per
year, for three years to Saint Paul Parks and Recreation. The sponsorship funds can used to fund
equipment purchase for the new Jimmy Lee Recreation Center, supplement uniform costs, and
provide needed equipment for Parks and Recreation.
The budget amendment is necessary to establish the proper fund for the Twin Cities Toyota
Dealer Group sponsorship.
Your approval and signature are necessary to complete this resolution.
