RESOLVED, that L. M. Klass and Allen Brand be permitted to
install and operate a public parking lot for 48 cars on the
west side of Temperance Street between Eighth and Ninth
Streets, on Lots 6 and 7, V. D. Walsh's Rearrangement of Lots
1 AND Ot Blk. 16, Robert & Randall's Add. and Blk. 7, Hoyt's
Add. in accordance with plans approved February 4, 1960, and
subject to compliance with the provisions of all ordinances
governing the operation of parking lots, and to the further
condition that sidewalks abut,t ng said premises be kept clean
and free of ice and snow at all times.

This is in the matter of the application of L. M. Klass and Allen
Brand to install and operate a public parking lot on property located
on the west side of Temperance Street between 8th and 9th Streets.
The property is described as Lots 6 and 7, V. D. Walsh's Rearr. of
Lots 1 and 2, Block 16, Roberts & Randalls Addition and Block 7
Hoyt's Addition." The zoning is light industry and has been since
the adoption of the Ordinance in 1922.
-The site has a frontage of 102.4 feet along Temperance Street and
extends to a depth of 145 feet; resulting in an area of approximately
14,848 square feet. Part of the site was formerly occupied by a
two =story factory building which has been removed. The applicant
proposes to develop the property with a 48 car public parking lot.
North and adjoining is an industrial building fronting on Temperance
Street; south and adjoining are industrial buildings and a: parking
lot which front on 8th Street; east across Temperance Street is an
industrial building which fronts on Temperance Street; pest across
an alley are commercial buildings fronting along Jackson Street.

Field investigation discloses no basic objection to the applicant's
proposed use. The Traffic Engineer has approved the plan which
meets the standards for this type of facility.
In consideration of the above factors, the Board of Zoning recommends
the granting of the permit for a 48 car public parking lot on the
above described property in accordance with plans approved Feb-
ruary 4, 1960. N
