WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of
the City of Saint Paul and the Public Housing Administration
have approved the acquisition by the Authority of Parcels 12 -1,
12 -2, 12 -3 and 12 -4, being a triangular tract of land situated
at Jackson and Valley Streets and shown on the attached Exhibit A,
which is made a part hereof by reference, Mt. Airy Site, P.H.A.
aided Low Rent Housing Project, Minn. 1 -3 to be included as
part of said Project Area and after the acquisition to be
leased to the City of Saint Paul for playground purposes as
part of the existing agreement and lease between the Authority
and the City of the Mt. Airy Community Building and Recreational
Site; and on December 10, 1959, the City Council by its resolu-
tion Council File No. 194963 approved change in boundary descrip-
tion so that said parcels of]and are now included within the
boundary of the Project Area; and
WHEREAS, Parcels 12 -1 and 12-4/included in said tract
of land to be acquired by the Authority are owned by the City
of Saint Paul and the State of Minnesota, and Mr. Eltor Dehn,
City Valuations Engineer, advises that the ownership thereof
is as follows:
Lot 1,' Block 20, Ashton & Sherburne's Addition
.to Saint Paul -- being a part of Parcel 12 -1,
is owned by the City of Saint Paul.
Easterly One -half of Lot 2, Block 20, Ashton &
Sherburne's Addition to Saint Paul -- also being
a part of Parcel 12 -1 -- tax forfeited title
conveyed to the City of Saint Paul by the State
of Minnesota for a specified public use.
Part Easterly of Jackson Street of Lots 4 and 5,
Block 20, Ashton & Sherburne's Addition to St.
Paul being Parcel 12 -4 -- tax forfeited title
conveyed to the City of Saint Paul by the State
of Minnesota for a specified public use.

WHEREAS, The remainder of said tract of land, being
Parcels 12 -2 and 12 -3, are presently being acquired by the
Authority from the private owners thereof and after the acqui-
sition of the whole tract is completed, steps to include the
same as part of the lease agreement between the Authority
and the City of Mt. Airy Community Building and Recreational
Site will be taken; and
WHEREAS, the Authority requests the Council to take
action to reconvey to the State of Minnesota the title to said
portion of Parcel 12 -1 and the title to Parcel 12- 4,being the
tax forfeited titles conveyed to the City for the specified
public use, to enable the Authority to thereafter acquire the
title to said parcels from the State of Minnesota and also to
approve the .sale and conveyance of said part of Parcel 12 -1
owned by the City out -right to the Authority; and
WHEREAS, the amount to be paid for the aforesaid
parcels shall be as follows:
The Authority to pay the City for:
"Except Wales Street, Lot 1, Block 20, Ashton
& Sherburne's Addition to Saint Paul"
the sum of . . . . . . . . . . . $1,000.00
the same being the appraised value for such parcel
established by Mr. Dehn, Valuations Engineer, and
The Authority to pay the State for:the two parcels
described as follows:

Upon reconveyance to the State by the City, the
Council recommends that the Authority pay to
the State the sum of . . , $300.001
$200.00 for the easterly one -half of Lot 2,
Block 20, Ashton & Sherburne's Addition to
Saint Paul, and $100.00 for the parcel
described as the part easterly of Jackson
Street of Lots 4 and 5, Block 20, Ashton &
Sherburne's Addition to Saint Paul, the said
amounts being the appraised value as established
by Mr. Dehn, Valuation Engineer, and the Authority
having heretofore agreed to pay such amounts;

RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint
Paul.hereby authorizes and directs the proper City officert
to prepare and execute instruments of conveyance transferring
title to the property hereinbefore outlined to the Authority
or to the State as appropriate, the amount to be paid the
City for
"Except Wales Street, Lot 1, Block 20, Ashton
& Sherburne's Addition to Saint Paul"
the sum of $1,000.00, and the amount to be paid the State for
the two parcels described:
