RESOLUTION
CiTY OF�AINT PAUL, MINNESOTA
Presented by
1 WHEREAS, today, May 14, 2008, is Twin Cities Bike Walk to Work Day; and

3 WHEREAS, 2,331 residents of the Twin Cities pre-registered to take part in the event designed to
4 highlight the bicyclist and pedestrian friendly Twin Cities; and
5
6 WHEREAS, bicycling and walking saves residents money, reduces pollution including greenhouse gases,
7 reduces traffic congestion, improves public heatth, and makes communities more livable; and
8
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council formally recognizes and
10 celebrates Bike Walk to Work Day 2008; and

12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Pau] City Council commends all Saint Paul residents,
13 commuters, and especiaily City staff, who biked or walked to work today and thanks them for their
14 contribution to making Saint Paul a more livable, bike and pedestrian-friendly community; and
15
16 BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council encourages alternative forms of
17 transportation every day of the yeaz.
