WHEREAS, it is necessary to make Surveys and prepare Plans
for the RIVERVIEW FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT, in order to obtain
Federal Aid Funds for the cost of this Improvement consist-
ing of acquisitions of properties and easements for the
construction of dikes, flood walls, pumping stations and
other accessories in addition to the issuance of 0 700,000.00
of Bonds by the City of St. t'aul for this Project, as author-
ized by legislative act (Chapter 685, 1957.Session Laws,
State of Minnesota) and _
WHEREAS, the cost , of such prelininary engineering is estimated
to be $ 10,000.00, now therefore be it

RESOEVED, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to perform such preliminary
engineering for the Riverview Flood Control Project at a
cost not to exceed,$ 10,000:00, to be financed from the
P.I.R. Fund,, Code 3001, which fund is to be reimbursed from
funds that will be made available -from the sale of Bonds
and from Federal Aid Funds to finance the physical improve-
ment of the Riverview Flood Control Project, and in case
that such matching funds will not be. made available for the
physical impr &vement,'then the cost of all preliminary engine-
ering is to be paid from the City s Share of Local Improvemants,
Code 31E1. (1960) -
