Proposed Improvement. Construct a public sewer in Larpenteur Avenue from Jackson Street to Adolphus street, and in Adolphus Street to Wheelock Parkway, all of which is to be known as the ADOLPHUS- LARPENTEUR SEWER SYSTEM. Preliminary Order C. F. 1959649 approved Feb. 19, 1960. 2. Financing The financing was agreed upon by the City of St. Paul and Maplewood, which is outlined in resolution C. F. 196792 (4- 21 -60). Total estimated cost County Aid Balance (to be shared 50/50 by hiaplewood and St. Paul) Maplewood share St. Paul share assessed 950 ft. 7.00 $6,650.00 31 -E -1 2 7 3. Reasons for scheduling at this times $18,595.28 4,218.93 14,376.35 $7,188.17 8,188.17 1. The county has need of a storm water mier to drain Larpenteur Ave.The county plaW to pave Larpenteur betraeen Jackson and Adolphus when the Highway Department completes the bridge which is presently under construction east of Adolphus street. 2. The village of Maplewood recuiired an outlet for their sanitary sewer system at Adolphus street as part of theircurrent sewer construction program. 3. The village of Maplewood was planning to build a sanitary sewer in Larpenteur from Jackson to Adolphus. Such a sewer was planned to be located in the boulevard in the north aide of the Larpenteur Ave. roadway to serve residents of Maplovjood only. 4. It was anticipated by the Public Works Dept* that because of the great number of homes fronting on Larpenteur Ave. in St.gaul between Adolphus and'Jackson that a sewer tiwuld be required to 'serve this property in St. Paul. It was f6lt that to build a sewer in St. Paul In Larpenteur Ave. after the paving would subject the City to much criticism from the County and the St. Paul Citizenry for lacking the foresight to combine all needs at this time. 4. Engineers Recommendation. Because of the necessity of building a sanitary sewer for St. Paul at some future date., and a storm sewer to drain the proposed new paving of Larpenteur Ave. and because a sanitary sewer will have to be built in Larpenteur Ave. to serve residents of Mapleiimod, it is our recommendation that the three sewer needs be included in one project.
