WHEREAS, The existing public stairway on Randolph Avenue eastward
from Omaha Street is supported on a limestone face which has weathered
to an unstable condition, and
WHEREAS, The repair will require very extensive changes in the supports
and much new construction, and
WHEREAS, The use appears to be limited to one family living at the
base of the stairway, and their use is to a mailbox which will be moved
to a better location on James Avenue and the Omaha track; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the stairway be barricaded from further use and then
removed.
