Peterson — Resolved, That this Council, being fully advised in the premises, hereby finds and declares the existence of a sudden and unexpected emergency wherein the funds of the City of Saint Paul appropriated for the particular RESOLVED, that this Council,.being fully advised in the premises, hereby finds and declares the existence of a sudden -and unexpected emergency wherein the funds of the City of Saint Paul appropriated for the particular purpose are inadequate properly to protect the public interest, in this, that the available police motor vehicle equipment for police patrol duty in the Bureau of Police, Department of Public Safety, has suddenly and unexpectedly degenerated`to a general condition of extensive delapidation and disrepair, rendering the same extremely dangerous to life, limb, and property and palpably inadequate for such essential police work; and that, to meet such sudden and unexpected emergency, it has become and now is necessary that at least 16 additional new motor vehicles be purchased by the City and furnished to said Bureau for such essential police work at a cost not in excess of X50,000, no part whereof is available therefor by appropriation or otherwise; RESOLVED FURTHER, that, for the purpose of meeting such sudden and unexpected emergency; the Mayor and the Comptroller hereby are authorized to borrow temporarily the sum of not in excess of $50,000 hereby found necessary therefor and to be allocated for disbursement in the meeting of su� crgerr by the purchase and furnishi o a. on police motor vehicles; that such temporary bore shall be effected in behalf of said City and that its promissory_ ote in the principal amount of said temporary loan shall be exeeuted'� d delivered in behalf of said City, as maker, to the party m_such loan, as payee, bearing interest on such principal sum at not fore than five (5) per cent per annum and payable within one year from the date of such loan; all subject to the approval of the Mayor -and the Comptroller by their signing and countersigning of this resolution. k �4#- COUNCILMEN Yeas Nays DeCourcy Holland Mortinson Peterson 7Tn Favor Rosen 0- Winkel Against Mr. President, Dillon 5M 7-59 S hn 5 ,. ry `► I �..�L Comptroller Adopted by the Council TEB 2 3 196® 19 ( - 8 2 3196 Approved + 19 Mayor DUPLICATE TO PRINTER CITY OF ST.
