199734Council File No. 199734 —By Miltonfi� CITY ORIG11t�AL TO COY CLiRK ` CI OF Rosen— Resolved, By the Council of th 1 1 City of Saint Paul, upon due considee NCIL `-r r- NO. ation of the report of the Commissi-)ner OFFICE OF TH of Public Works and due investigation in COUNCIL RESOLUTI I determined the premises, that it is found and ermined that there has arisen and now exists an urgent and necessitous PRESENTED BY situation and condition in respect of COMMISSIONE necessary Flood Co, in„ thg, ^.sty e� s mac_. - } _M_ 1 RESOLVED, by the Council of the City'of Saint Paul; upon due consideration of the report of the Commissioner of Public Works and due investigation in the premises, that it is found and determined that there has arisen and now exists an urgent and necessitous situation and condition in respect'of necessary Flood Control, in the City of Saint Paul,.requiring immediate provision for increased flood control facilities therefor which constitutes a sudden and unexpected emergency wherein the funds of said City provided therefor have become and remain inadequate for the protection of the public interests; nd that supplemental to the funds of the City available therefor d supplemental to any funds from any other source available therefor i will be necessary that the City forthwith borrow and make available for payment of its expense necessarily to be incurred in properly protecting the public interests, in the premises, by the procurement and establishment of such additional flood control facilitied making adequate provision therefor in meets such emergency, the su of not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Dollars (200,000); RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Mayor and City Comptroller hereby are authorized, pursuant to Section 206 of the City Charter, in behalf of the City, to borrow temporarily said sum of not to exceed, Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) necessary, together with all other funds available therefor, properly to meet such emergency and protect the public interests therein, and to make, execute and deliver to the party or parties making such temporary loan, a promissory note of the City therefor in the principal amount of such temporary loan and not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000), and bearing interest thereon at not to exceed six per cent per annum until paid and payable within one (1) year from and after the date of such temporary loan; RESOLVED FURTHER that Thousand Dollars ($200,0003, upon shall be deposited to the credit created and designated as "Flood borrowed sum of not to- exceed Two COUNCILMEN Yeas Nays DeCourcy Rolland Loss Mortinson Peterson Rosen Mr. President, Vavoulis sM s -0o '1!i 2 said sum of not to exceed Two Hundred n such authorized borrowing.of the same, of a special fund. of the City hereby Co trol Project Fund" and that such Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) -�' In Favor Against Adopted by the Council 19— Approved 19 Mayor 199734 ORIGINAL TO CITY CLVRK CITY OF ST.
