RESOLUTION ACCEPTING REDEVELOPMENT GRANTS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT
AND ECONOMTC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE FROGTOWN SQ/DALE ST VILLAGE ON UNIVERSITX, AND
FARMERS MARKET SITES - PUBLIC HEARTNG - DISTRICTS 7 AND 17
WHEREAS, the City Council on February 6, 2008, by Resolution Numbers 08-96 and 08-97, authorized the
Director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Department of
Employment and Economic Development for grants to redevelop the Frogtown Squaze and Fanner's Market
sites; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Employment and Economic Development approved Redevelopment grants of
$174,500 for the Fmgtown Square site and $70,000 for the Failner's Market site; and
WHEItEAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby
certify that $244,500 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2008 budget
and recommends the following changes to the 2008 budget:

12 WfIEREAS, the City of SainY Paul, Minnesota (the "Ciry") has identified redevelopment projects within
t3 the City that meet the purposes and cziteria of the Redevelopmerat Program of the Department of
14 Employment and Economic Devetopment; and

16 WFIEEItEA3, the City has the Iegal authority to apply for fmancial assistance, and the institutional,
17 managerial and finazicial capability to ensure adequate project administration; and

19 WHEgEAS, the City certifies that it has not violated any Federal, State or local laws pertainiug to fraud,
2o bribery, graft, kickbacks, collusion, conflict of interest, or other uzilawful or comxpt practice and that it will
21 comply with all applicable laws and regvlations as stated in the contract agreerttents; and
