Hon. Council
City of Saint Paul
Dear Council Members:
An inspection has been made of the apartment building at 122
Iglehart Avenue, St. Paul 3, described as Lot 20, Block 3,
Irvine's Addition to St. Paul.
This is a two story, frame, eight -unit apartment building, ap-
proximately 52 by 78 feet, with imitation asphalt siding on
the outside walls. The building is very dilapidated and deteri-
orated, outside trim and sash rotted and falling apart. Chimney
is deteriorated, floors are uneven and sagging, plaster is loose
and in poor condition, and plumbing leaks. Railings are miss-
ing on inside stairways and the second means of egress from
two of the second story apartments is through a window to a
fire escape, which is about ready to collapse. Two of the
apartments on the second floor have only one means of egress.
This building is a fire trap, eyesore, and dangerous to life,
limb and adjoining property and is now vacant and should be
wrecked and removed. Danger Notices have been posted.
The last known record owner is Oscar Robbins, 489 St. Peter
Street and on record in the Finance Department - Oscar Robins,
239 State Street, St.. Paul 7.
Kindly institute condemnation action in accordance with Section
1.07 -2 of the St. Paul Legislative Code, by setting a hearing
date.
Yours truly,
A ed H. Schroeder
