In the Matter of grading and surfacing with bituminous material all alleys in Block 5,
Hamline Syndicate Addition No. 2 (the East Northand South alley from Thomas Ave. to
Lafond Ave. the West North and South alley fran Thomas Ave. to Lafond Ave. and the East and
West alley from the West North and South alley to the East North and South alley.
Also constructing a storm sewer in the East North and South alley from the center line of
the East and West alley to Thomas Ave., and in the West North and South alley from 43.73 ft.

under Preliminary Order 198639 approved August 23, 1960
The Council of the City of St. Paul `having received the' report of the Commissioner of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is to grade and surface
with bituminous material all alleystin Block 5, Hamline Syndicate Addition No. 2 (the
East North and South all• y f rom Thomas Ave. to Lafond Ave. the West North and South alley
from Thomas Ave. to Lafond Ave. and the East and West alley from the West North and South
alley to the East North and South alley.
Also constructing a storm sewer in the East North and South alley from the center line of
the East and West alley to Thomas Ave., and in the West North and South alley from 13.73
ft. South of Lafond Ave. to Lafond Ave.
with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $ 6,1187.2 K
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 8th day of
November 196 0 , at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
