In the Matter of condemning and taking an easement in the land necessary for slopes, cuts
and fills, including right of removal of lateral support from subject l &nd or remainder
thereof occasioned by excavations thereof or construction of slopes in the grading and sur-
facing with bituminous material hlleys in Block 5, Hamline Syndicate Addition No. 2,
(the East North and South alley from T pmas Ave. to Lafond Ave.; the West alley from the
West North and South alley to the East Borth and South Alley.)
under Preliminary Order 198640 Approved August 23, 1960
The Council of the City of St. Paul having received the report of the Commissioner '_of Finance
upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved and adopted, and the said improvement
is hereby ordered to be proceeded with.
2. That the nature of the improvement which the Council recommends is to condemn and take
an easement in the land necessary f or'slopes, cuts and fills, including right of removal
of lateral support from subject land or reaminder thereof occasioned by excavations thereof
or construction of slopes in the grading and surfacing with bituminous material all alleys
in Bl.ock°5, Hamline Syndicate Addition No. 2, (the East North and South alley from Thomas
Ave. to Lafond Ave.; the West alley from•tbe West North and South alley to the East
North and South alley.)., in accordance with-the blueprint hereto attached the hatched
portions showing the cuts and the.shaded portions showing the fill.
with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $ 850 -00
Resolved Further, That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 8th day of
November 1960 , at the hour of 10 o'clock A. M., in the Council Chamber of the Court
House and City Hall Building in the City of St. Paul. That the Commissioner of Finance give notice of
said meeting to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of
hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated.
