RESOLVED, That the Council hereby approves the award of the Purchasing
Committee therefor and hereby awards contract for furnishing and delivering
f.o.b. Cityof St. Paul Water Department Purification Plant, 1909 Rice Street,
Soo Line Siding, St. Paul, Minnesota for period of one year effective
October 15, 1960, approximately 450 tons Solvay Liquid Chlorine in carload
shipments of thirty tons each, to MATERIAL SUPPLY COF3PORATION, Agent for
SOLVAY PROCESS DIVISION,- ALLIED CHEMICAL CO.$PORATION, at a price of $88.40
per ton, making total amount of contract approximately $39,780.00, in..
accordance with City specifications, general terms of vendors standard
contract, and the Formal Bid #8159 of said Material Supply Corporation,
Agent for Solvay Process Division, Allied Chemical Corporation; such bid
being one of eight identical bids, said bidder being a reasonable and
reliable one and the Corporation Counsel be acid hereby is directed to draw
up ~the proper form of contract therefor and the proper City officials
hereby are authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of
Saint Paul.
