Initiating Problem, Issues, Opportunity (4Vho, What, When, Where, Why):
Last sucumer, the Ciry of Saint Paul opened the Highland Park Aquatic Center. Recruiring was challenging. Nonetheless, the number
of requued seasonal aquatics staff increased from the year prior, even with Oxford Pool being closed. In 2008, the new Aqua6cs
Center at Oxford pool will open. Required seasonai and yeaz round staffing is expected to increase dramatically. To recruit enough
qualified staff and to stay competirive with similaz aqnarics facilities in the metro area, the rates of pay for Aquarics titles wiflrin the
AFSCME Technical Salary Schedule aze being incceased.
