A public hearing having been had upon the above improvement upon due notice, and the Council
having heard all persons, objections and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully considered
the same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that the precise nature, extent and kind of im-
provement to be made by the said City is to reconstruct -the sidewalk on both sides of
Syndicate Ave., from Jefferson Ave. to Randolph Ave., except where good and sufficient
sidewalks now exist

and the Council hereby orders said improvement to be %made.
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Commissioner of Public Works be and is hereby instructed and
directed to prepare plans and specifications for said improvement, and submit same to the Council for
approval; that upon said approval, the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to pro-
ceed with the making of said improvement in accordance therewith.

Dear Mrs. O'Connell:
Returned herewith as you suggested in your letter of October 4th
is a petition of objection to the construction of sidewalks on both
sides of Syndicate Avenue from Jefferson Ave. to Randolph Ave.
As was agreed in the City Council meeting on October 4th, I
have instructed the Local Improvements Engineer, Mr. Beckett, to .
arrange to have an inspector call on each of the persons appearing
on the petition to discuss the improvement further with them. I am
also sending Mr. Beckett a photo -copy of the petition and of your
letter.
