WHEREAS:, We, as responsible citizens of the fair City of St. Paul, are fully
cognizant of the important contribution made by our senior citizens
toward the growth and well being of our life in this community, as
we know it today; and
WHEREAS, Vd wish to salute and pay tribute to the generation of citizens who,
during their young and productive years, helped to forge a metropolis
from the wilderness on the shores of the Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, We acknowledge that the younger generation of the community now 9ves
a debt of gratitude to our senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, We are aware of the fact that at the age of 65 they have reached the
point where they are experiencing difficulties in meeting present day
living standards and financial obligations, and that they are greatly
in need of recreational activities to make their leisure hours more
pleasant and enjoyable,
BE IT RESOLVED, That in recognition of their services and untiring devotion to
this community, the City Council of the City of St. Paul deems it an
honor to extend to all senior citizens who have reached the age of 65
and over, who are no longer employed, the following:
Free golfing privileges to be usable at Como, Phalen and Highland
golf courses, Mondays through Fridays, except Saturdays, Sundays and
holidays.
Tee -off time before 3:00 p.m. _
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That these privileges will be effective each year, as
a token of our esteem, by the Department of Parks, Recreation, and
Public Buildings, and by the City of St. Paul as a whole.
