08-367Council File # b8' 3�� Green Sheet # 3051817 1 2 , � 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 ITY Presented RESOLUTION SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA /3 WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Department of Human Rights has developed a city-wide strategy that is designed to prevent acts of prejudice, racism and discrimination; and WHEREAS, a key component of the prevention strategy is a commihnent on the part of community members, agencies and organization that "Prejudice Isn't Welcome" in Saint Paul; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the current budgetary situation requires the Department of Human Rights to seek altemative methods to secure funding to cover the cost of maintaining the "Prejudice Isn't Welcome" pro�am; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council consents to and approves of the request of the Human Rights Department to receive $3,000.00 from the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to implement and promote the "Prejudice Isn't Welcome" shategy to prevent prejudice, racism and discrimination; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funds received from the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission be used for the purpose of purchasing additional promotional items necessary to sustain the prevention strategy.
