WHEREAS,. The City Clerk has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of
the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the period
from April 9th up to and including April 28th, 1960, which rendered
necessary the employment of certain employees of the City Clerk's
Office for more than eight iplours per day or forty hours per week in
doing the following work:
The office was open three nights until 9 P.M. for instruction
meetings for election judges and so judges working out of their
home precinct could vote and so judges could pick up their
Supplies, Checking the voting machines in the Warehouse before
delivery. The office was open from 6 A,M. to 11.30p.M.,Election Day.
AND WHEREAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and
circumstances:
Preparing for the City General Election of April 26th, 1960.
THEREFORE HE IT RESOLVED That the proper city officers are hereby
authorised to pay the employees who performed such work in
accordance with the provisions of the Council's salary.ordinance,
Ordinance No. 6446.
