Whereas, Leonard C. Peterson, an
employe of the Department of Public
Safety of the City of Saint Pam, was
inured on December 18, 19M, in a
third party accident while engaged in
the performance of his duties 'for the

WHEREAS, Leonard C. Peterson, an employe of the
Department of Public Safety of the City of Saint Paul, was
injured on December 18, 1958, in a third party accident while
engaged in the performance of his duties for the Department
of Public Safety, and the City has incurred medical expenses
in the amount of $129.10 therebr, and the employe, by reason
of said injury, was disabled for work for a period of time,
being paid salary in the amount of $428.91 therefor; and
WHEREAS, a settlement has been negotiated by the
parties in thb total amount of $2,250.00, including the amount
of $558.01 to which the City was subrogated for medical expense
and salary, out of which there should be paid attorney's fees
to George Siegel in the amount of $139.50, leaving $418.51
to be paid the City towards its expenses and wages paid the
employe; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Corporation Counsel is
in possession of Draft No. 60605 of the Hartford Accident and
Indemnity Company, payable to Leonard Peterson, George L.
_S_ieg.el his attorney, and City of St. Paul, in the amount of
$2,250.00, on behalf of Peter J. Sadowski, owner of the truck
involved in said third party accidebt; andthe Office of the
Corporation Counsel also is in possession of the check of
George L.. Siegel, drawn on the Commercial State Bank in the
amount of $418.51 and payable to the City of St. Paul, repre-
senting the amount the City is entitled to receive for its
subrogation interest; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, The proper City Officers are hereby
authorized to endorse said draft of the Hartford Accident
and Indemnity Company in the.amount of $2250.00 and to sign
any necessary releases on behalf of the City, and to accept
the sum of $418.51 in full settlement of the City's claim for
its medical expenses and salary paid on behalf of its employe
Leonard C. Peterson by reason of said third party accident of
December 18, 1958; that of said settlement, the sum of $129.10
be credited to Fund 31 -G1 -A, and $289.41 be credited to Fund? C -1,
