PAUL FILCOUNCIL N ���///S� '��#✓✓l���Y FILE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL RESOLYJTION— GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY '\ COMMISSIONER R DAT WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation andi Public Buildings has reported, in accordance with Section 53 of the City Charter, the existence of` an emergency during the period from April 1 to 15, 1960, which rendered necessary the employment of certain employees of the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing the following work: Supervision, operation, maintenance, care and protection of public parks and playgrounds and of their facilities. And SEAS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances: Council File No. 196780 —By Bernard T. Holland— Resolved, That the proper city offi- cers are hereby authorized to pay certain employes in the Department of Parks & Recreation & Public Build - es for extra employment as described the resolution. Adopted by the Council April 20, 1960. Approved April 20, 1960. (April 23, 1960) Seasonal requirements for protection of public property and pursuit of depart- mental activities, such as: Heating plant for the Conservatory and Zoo tended around the clock; civic events and muniti- pal sports and playground programs momentarily required increased time and effort of an unforeseen nature; tree trimmer assigned to housemoving operation was obliged to stay on the job to completion; brush and debris left by tree trimmers cleared for Sunday. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the proper city officers are hereby authorized to pay the employees who per- formed such work in accordance iTith the provisions of the Council's salary ordinance, Ordinance No. 6446.
