Sheahan Corporation Counsel Building Dear Sir: JOSEPH R. OKONESKI City Clerk HAROLD J. RIORDAN Council Recorder I The City Council reques l %d a resolution granting permission to Miss Gertrude Reinic b "ckvoi an oversize fence along the rear of her property, the fence to be 6 ft. in height to the building line -'of._ the neighboring property and 3 ft., 6 in. from the building line to the sidewalk. We suggest that you confer with the City Architect to secure more detailed information as to the location. 0 Very truly yours, D Cl-ty Clerk MINNESOTA $, r' 355 Cleveland Avenue North St. Paul 4, Minnesota April 14, 19-60 Payor and Members of the Council: For the protection of my property against fire and for the purpose of securing healthful, safe and sanitary conditions on my premises, I am asking that the Council relax the requirements set forth in the ]wilding Code in connection with the construction of fence. The Code does not appear to give any consideration for a person whose lot level is lower than that of the adjoining property. Because my property on 355 Cleveland Avenue Yorth is lower at the back than that of the adjoining property, it works a special hardship.on me as will be shown. Recause the Fire Department is aware -of the hazarde ous conditio -a which presents itself, is vitally concerned, and has reported the matter, I know that Mr. Peterson recognizes the precarious position in ti °which I find myself, but I would like a chance to explain to the rest of you why I find it necessary to take of the Council's valuable', time for a matter which is personal. Since this need for a fence has long been urgent, I trust the Council will give it the utmost attention. 7 Sincerely, i Gertrude Reinicke
