COACIL RESOLUTION—,GENERAL FORM
COUNCIL NO. 6743
FILE
WHEREAS, the Fighting Saints, Saint Paul's hockey
entry in the International Hockey League, finished the regular
season in first place in the western division of said league;
and
WHEREAS, said Saint Paul Saints hockey team did win
the western division playoffs championship -from the Minneapolis
entry in said league; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Saints have beaten the Fort
Wayne Komets, thereby becoming the International Hockey League
champions and bringing to Saint Paul the Turner Cup,
Now, Therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Common Council of the City of
Saint Paul does hereby congratulate the players, coach Freddie
Shero, and president Patrick Egan for the fine sportsmanship
and achievement of their hockey club and does further declare
this to be Saint Paul Hockey Saints Day in Saint Paul.
