WEEMS, The Commissioner of Libraries, Auditorium, Museums and Stadia has reported in
accordance with Section 53'of the City Charter, the existence of an emergency during the
period from February 29th through April 2nd, 1960 which rendered necessary the employ —
went of certain employees of the Department of Libraries, Auditorium, Museums and Stadia,
Bureau of Auditorium, for more than eight hours per day or forty hours per week in doing

the following work:
Opegate switchboard, ventilating systems, run ice plant during illness of
regular employee and supervise during basketball games, hockey games; circus,
boat show and other events held in the building.
And WEEMS, This emergency arose by reason of the following facts and circumstances:
No other trained help available to work during many attractions and events
held in the building. This time includes Saturdays and Sundays. .
TEMEFORE BE IT RESOLVED,, That the proper City Officers are hereby authorized to pay
the employees who performed such work in accordance with the provisions of the Councils
Salary Ordinance No. 64+6.
