Dear Council Members :
The Car Mileage Committee met in my office on Monday morning,
October 23, 1961, and made a study of the following requests :
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
�
Request 'from John J. Eichinger, countersigned by Commissioner
Milton Rosen, was for placement of Donald W. Schmidt on C Mile-
age, effective October l, 1961 with a maximum of $75.00. The
Committee recommends favorable action.
It was also requested that Samuel B. Stinson, surveyor, be re- �
moved from Plan C� $75.00 maximum effective October l, 1961 as he
has resigned. The Committee recommends favorable action bn this
request.
SAINT PAUL PUBLIC SCHOOLS
John M. Gran, Assistant Superintendent, requested C mileage for �
Lyle Davis, steamfitter, ' $30 per month maximum, effective Octo-
ber l, 1961, and the Committee recommends this� request be grant-
ed.
Mr. Gran requested increased mileage, e�tective October 1, .1961
under Plan C for the following:
Edward Schnaith, plbr. from $30 per mo. to $50
Owen Munkholm, Sh.metal worker from $40 per mo. to $50
Earl Nordstrom, painter from $30 per mo. to $45
Fred Swanson, painter from $20 per mo, to $30
The committee recommends that these requests be granted.
Mr. Gran requested removal from C Mileage Plan, effective Octo-
ber l, 1961 of Charles Aitkin, plumber. This is recommended to
the Council for favorable action.

� The committee was informed by Jack R. Smith, Acting Director
of Fallout Shelter Survey, that Mr. Ralph P. Dougherty has
resigned as Director, effective October 15, 1961 and his name
should be deleted from Type C Mileage. The Committee recom=
mends this action.
